I love breakfast. It is by far my favorite meal of the day… However, I also like sleep. And during the week these two loves war for my time in the short morning hours. So today, I wanted to share with you my favorite on-the-go breakfast.
A Banana Berry Smoothie.
Now, for me the key to a perfect smoothie that I can whip up while I search for my keys and drink on the way to work is the consistency. If you make a thick smoothie with tons of frozen fruit, you’ll struggle with two things. The first is getting the chunks of frozen fruit pureed before you need to leave. I’m a firm believer that combining fresh banana with smaller frozen fruit (like blueberries) is the way to go to not end up with big chunks of frozen fruit at the bottom of your glass. The second challenge is getting the thick drink to be drinkable from your coffee travel mug/straw/etc. That’s why I wanted to share this incredibly simple recipe, because it has the perfect consistency for your morning rush.
